Kismet

All the chaos surrounding these last studio shoots has been exciting and laughable. I enjoy chaos to a certain point, and as a journalist have learned to thrive in it. At times I work better under pressure  than when I have all the time in the world.

I have enjoyed this project immensely, and it all started because I am a control freak. That can be a good thing at times, really it can. Because I obsess about every little detail, I think about little things that others might miss, ignore or not even consider.

The last shoot wasn’t without its’ own drama, flying Derek out, changing his flight as they filled up since he was coming out stand-by, then my AD on a trip and getting stuck in San Francisco until the morning of the shoot and flying in an hour before our schedule. Really, I should be used to this at this point, and when I answered the phone and the first words out of her mouth were “Don’t panic,” I really didn’t. I went on making the dress for the next day. I figured there wasn’t a studio covered in blood and there was a model coming I was familiar with, who knew the material and what I was looking for. As for the other model, non-model, who ended up being a blessing in disguise and absolutely perfect for the project she was still on board after the first shoot.

This all seems a bit vague but really if you want all the dirty just go back in the blog, because it is all there.

If all goes well, I have one more shoot for this character, then I only need to cast the brother and his lady and get that in the can and we are done. Easy peasy. Or maybe not, because the adventure really has been half of the entire experience. In the meantime I have met some wonderful people that I am excited to be working with in the future, and had a lot of fun and many many laughs.

Check out my partners in crime, this is such a great team:

Derek Hutchins: model (and photographer)

Cora Kemp: model (and  photographer)

Monica Graf: Makeup artist and hair extraordinaire

Elena Brown: Editor and Art Director
